This Privacy Policy explains how ProspectPin ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use our website and services at prospectpin.com. By using ProspectPin, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who we are

ProspectPin is a web-based SaaS tool that allows users to search Google Maps for business contact data and export it as a CSV. Our service is operated by ProspectPin and our registered contact email is support@prospectpin.com.

2. What data we collect

Account data

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address via Clerk, our authentication provider. We do not store passwords directly — authentication is handled securely by Clerk.

Payment data

Payment information is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We receive and store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your plan.

Usage data

We store records of searches you perform including the business type, location, country, and number of results returned. This is used to enforce your monthly usage limits and display your usage on the account page.

Search results

When you run a search, the results including business names, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, and addresses are saved to your account so you can access them later via Saved Lists. This data is sourced from publicly available Google Maps listings.

Analytics data

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage data including pages visited, time on site, and general location (country/region level). This helps us understand how users interact with the product. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.

3. How we use your data

• To provide and operate the ProspectPin service
• To manage your subscription and billing via Stripe
• To enforce monthly usage limits based on your plan
• To store your search history and results so you can access them later
• To send transactional emails related to your account (e.g. billing confirmations)
• To improve the product using anonymised analytics data
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is stored on servers within the European Union. We use row-level security policies to ensure each user can only access their own data.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), server-side authentication checks, and restricted access to production systems.

5. Third-party services

ProspectPin uses the following third-party services which may process your data:

• Clerk — authentication and user account management
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
• Supabase — database storage
• Apify — Google Maps data extraction (we send your search query; no personal data is shared)
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage analytics
• Vercel — hosting and deployment

6. Data retention

We retain your account data and search history for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.

7. Your rights

• Right of access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — you can request that we delete your data
• Right to portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format
• Right to object — you can object to certain types of data processing

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We also use Google Analytics cookies for anonymous usage tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect how the service functions.

9. Children

ProspectPin is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice on the site. Your continued use of ProspectPin after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
